Non-Speech Pathologist co-contributors/presenters

We understand the importance and value of presentations that promote diversity and collaboration, particularly among multi-disciplinary teams (e.g. other allied health, educational, or medical professionals) and individuals who have co-designed their supports (e.g. individuals with lived experience of communication and swallowing needs and their caregivers, and underrepresented communities). It's crucial that research and discussions encompass the varied perspectives of all team members and prioritise consultation with those whom we support, as their firsthand insights and perspectives play a vital role in shaping discussions and deepening community understanding. If one of your co-contributors/presenters is attending solely to present in your session, we can organise a complimentary session pass, allowing them to attend, participate, and contribute to discussions.

NB: Session passes do not include access to catering or other sessions within the conference program.

To request the session pass, please contact the Conference and Events team and provide the following:

  • Presentation details
    • Submission #
    • Name
  • Co-presenter details
    • First name
    • Last name
    • Email
    • Mobile

Presenter Prep Hub

It's essential that you check in with the Presenter Prep (located in Meeting Room 12, Level 2) no later than three (3) hours before your presentation.

During this check-in, our team will be on hand to verify your presentation upload, guide you through the in-house presentation system, and answer any questions you may have about the setup.

Don't forget to consult the conference program for the Presenter Prep Hub opening hours.

Submit your presentation(s) and resource(s)

All presentations will be uploaded into the conference cloud and will automatically stream to the session rooms. As a backup, we advise you to bring a copy of your presentation on a USB drive.

When saving your slide file, please use the format FirstNameLastName_PresentationTitle e.g.JoCitizen_HowToSubmitAPresentation

Your presentation must be loaded into the conference cloud system at least three (3) hours before your presentation by either:

  • Uploading them by Monday 13 May to the conference cloud
Should you require any assistance with this process, we encourage you to reach out to the SPA Conference & Events Team and we'll be happy to offer assistance and support.

Or

  • Bringing them on USB and uploading via the Presenter Prep Hub onsite at the conference.

To upload your presentation(s) to the conference cloud

  • Use the personalised link provided in the presenter portal email. This link will take you directly to your presentation folder, where you can easily upload your presentation.

Or

  • Using the OneDrive link below, navigate to the folder corresponding to the date of your presentation. Inside, you'll find individual folders named: LastName_FirstName_PresentationTitle e.g. CITIZEN_Jo_HowToSubmitAPresentation

    Each folder contains two subfolders:
PowerPoint slides for presentation: save your presentation slides in PPT format in here.
Presentation resources: save any resources you want attendees to have access here, including a pdf version of your presentation slides. Keep in mind, attendees will directly access this folder, so only include items you're happy to share.
NB. It's essential to obtain consent and deidentify any client information before uploading your resources, as this folder is shared directly with attendees via the conference mobile app.

NB. If you make changes to your presentation after uploading, you can easily replace it with an updated version before the deadline. Please ensure that you adhere to this folder structure to ensure that your presentation appears correctly for the Presenter Prep team and to avoid any potential issues.

Acknowledgement of Country

As part of our commitment to honouring and respecting Australia's First Nation's People, a formal Acknowledgement to Country or Welcome to Country will be conducted during the opening session of the conference.

Presenters are encouraged to consider incorporating an Acknowledgement of Country at the beginning of their presentation.

e.g. In the spirit of reconciliation, we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of lands, seas, and waters throughout Australia, and pay respects to Elders past, present and future. We recognise that the health, social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are grounded in continued connection to Culture, Country, Language, and Community and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.

This small but meaningful gesture demonstrates respect and appreciation for the Traditional Owners who have cared for this land for tens of thousands of years.
