Presentation summary

This fireside chat will provide the opportunity to gain deeper perspectives and engage in meaningful discussion around self-care and burnout in remote service delivery.
Our objectives include to provide attendees with valuable insights and practical strategies to enhance their well-being, maintain professional boundaries, achieve work-life balance, and prevent burnout.
We aim to explore the challenges and opportunities associated with remote work, including working from home and hybrid service delivery models.
The presenters will share personal experiences and expertise in effectively managing these aspects of their professional lives.
Methods for facilitating the dynamic exchange of ideas includes direct interaction with presenters, the sharing of practical strategies and insights and the facilitation of the discussion in an engaging, conversational manner.
The resulting discussion will underscore the challenges and advantages of remote and hybrid work settings in supporting the self-care of practitioners and their clients.
In conclusion, the flexibility of remote work will be presented as offering unique opportunities for achieving work-life balance but without clear boundaries a real threat of burnout. Attendees will be encouraged to proactively implement the discussed strategies to effectively maintain their wellbeing.

Katelynd has 20 years’ experience in the disability and out-of-home care sectors. She has worked for both non-government and government agencies here in Australia and overseas. Her focus is on children, young people and their families. In particular that focus is on safety, relationships and communication. Katelynd’s intention is to highlight the skills already being used, the skills that are needed next and how interactions can support ongoing development and quality of life. What she does is highly individualised, strengths based and very practical.
