I am an experienced speech pathology clinician and researcher specialising in children with oral language and literacy disorders, particularly DLD. My work includes identifying risk factors, creating and evaluating interventions, and developing support programmes for language and mental health. I led the profession’s response to the National Inquiry into the Teaching of Literacy and have contributed to several national and state reviews and clinical guidelines. I teach speech pathology courses and supervise a large group of internationally recognised research students in paediatric language, literacy, and mental health. I regularly present workshops and keynote lectures, including serving as keynote speaker at the inaugural 2021 International Research Developmental Language Disorder Conference. My current research projects include the Intervention Consensus for LD (www.ucc.ie/en/ticld/); Engage-DLD (www.bath.ac.uk/projects/the-screening-of-undiagnosed-dld-in-students-sounds-project/); and a number of projects with members of languageandliteracyinyoungpeople.com/get-involved
