Dr Melanie Johnston is a consultant psychiatrist with the Queensland Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability and Autism Health where she contributes as a clinician, researcher, and medical educator. Melanie is focussed on building initiatives to upskill healthcare workers to adapt their practice for individuals with intellectual and developmental disability.

Victoria is a clinical researcher and Advanced speech pathologist at the Queensland Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability and Autism Health. She holds a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (2012) and a PhD (2025), both from the University of Queensland, where she also serves as a guest lecturer. Since 2013, Victoria has worked in both hospital and private practice settings, supporting individuals with communication and swallowing difficulties throughout the lifespan. Her current clinical focus is on providing care for people with co-occurring mental health conditions and neurodevelopmental disabilities.
